Frequency
Frequency is the number of oscillations per second of a radio wave. A station or a DAB+ block is sent on its own frequency.
Frequency describes how often a radio wave oscillates per second. Each broadcast sits on a frequency, and the radio tunes to it to pick the signal out of the air.
On FM, one station has one frequency, and listeners often remember it as a number. On DAB+, a whole multiplex shares a frequency block, and the radio shows station names instead. That is why most DAB+ listeners never need to know a frequency.
BAKOM publishes lists of transmitters by location and frequency, which helps if you want to check what a place receives. The term is also used for the regional FM frequency packages that BAKOM offered in 2026.
