Multiplex
A multiplex is a bundle of several radio programmes and data services sent together on one DAB+ frequency block.
A multiplex combines several radio programmes and small data services into one digital signal. That signal is broadcast on a single frequency block, and the radio separates the programmes again at the receiving end.
The listener rarely sees the word. A station scan builds the station list from every multiplex it finds. In everyday use the terms multiplex and ensemble mean almost the same thing. dabplus.ch says a single block can carry up to 18 programmes.
When a station seems to be missing, the usual cause is that the radio has not picked up the multiplex that carries it.
